Our home of Chicago, Illinois, is ground-zero of financial market innovation in the 20th and 21st centuries.

UFT Commercial Finance is a pioneering financial technology firm that is re-energizing the world of credit by creating and leading the adoption of the Credit Participation Certificate™ or “CPC™” – one of the only non-derivative-based credit asset classes to come to market in years – and enabling the cutting-edge technique of Cashless Investment™ utilizing the Enhancement CPC™. Originating in the wake of the 2008 global market meltdown, the CPC™ offers a comprehensive alternative to traditional securitizations and eliminates the frailties inherent in the way credit has been distributed since the late 1970s.  This new credit asset class and investment system sheds light into the dark corners of securitized credit where contagions flourished and eventually took down the market.

The CPC’s ground-breaking suite of credit products brings a new dimension to credit investment across a global stage. A well-defined suite of CPC™ products span the yield curve from fixed income to equity-linked credit, allowing UFT Commercial Finance to actively drive a new global paradigm in lending.  The firm, led by industry visionary Joanne Marlowe, looked beyond the white-noise of today’s fintech-driven, technologically-enabled, and deal-room-based marketplace lending models to develop an asset class that focuses on the foundational re-engineering of how credit is built, serviced, priced, monitored, and traded.  By going back to basics and building an instrument that was intended from the start to be captured and catapulted across a custom-built cloud-based technology platform, a more agile, resilient, and transparent credit market is finally made possible.

Established in 2008, UFT Commercial Finance is dedicated to building a next-generation credit market in coordination with best-of-breed legacy market participants ranging from banks, pension and investment funds, institutional investors, and family offices of all sizes. Through cooperation with these established credit market participants, UFT Commercial incorporates, rather than disintermediates, trusted institutions into a broader credit system; a system that fosters a truly cross-border and highly liquid credit market where investor access is democratized, capital flows more efficiently, and pricing is radically improved.  In UFT Commercial’s vision, CPC™ market participants can move freely across a standardized credit framework to act as both credit originators and investment participants.  This type of globally-minded market continuity lets market participants deliver better products to their customers, incur nominal costs, and enjoy improved performance.

Houston and Hurricane Harvey: A Call to Action

"Hurricane Harvey made landfall near Rockport, Texas on August 25, 2017 as a Category 4 storm. Over the next four days, Harvey dropped more than 40 inches of rain over eastern Texas, causing catastrophic flooding. The resulting floods inundated hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people, and prompted more than 17,000 rescues. Total damage from the hurricane is estimated at $125 billion, making it the second costliest tropical cyclone on record after Hurricane Katrina.

This study — by ISET-International, a non-profit organization committed to building resilience and catalyzing adaptation to critical social and environmental challenges, Zürich Insurance Group, the global insurer with its Flood Resilience Alliance, and the American Red Cross Global Disaster Preparedness Center — looks in detail at the Houston floods that resulted from Hurricane Harvey. Based on interviews with impacted households and businesses, and with people involved in risk reduction, response and recovery at the city, county, and state level, the study identifies lessons learned from the floods and provides lessons and recommendations for enhancing flood resilience. We believe that these lessons and recommendations can be applied not just in Houston, but across the US and globally."

The Infrastructure CPC™ and Infrastructure Enhancement CPC™ made their global debut in this critical report, noted as an innovative, new public-private infrastructure funding solution.
